Situated in the heart of beautiful Clifton, we are within walking distance of the city centre shops, boutiques of Park Street, the Waterfront’s bars, restaurants of Clifton Village and top tourist attractions such as the zoo and Brunel’s suspension bridge.
Set in a 19th century Neo-Classical converted house, our rooms are all individually decorated and combine modern decoration while retaining the building’s period character. Our team is here 24 hours a day to look after you and we pride ourselves on our friendly but professional service.
We offer individual day gym membership at both the Clifton College with its Olympic sized swimming pool and the Cannon’s gym at highly discounted rates. This makes your stay, whether for business or leisure, as comfortable as possible.
Our fabulous restaurant, Racks Wine Bar, set in our converted cellars is one of the most cosmopolitan bars in Bristol, providing a place for you to socialise and unwind while enjoying the finest wines and coldest beers. Here you can enjoy our bistro menu either in the restaurant with its rich decor of warm reds and exposed brick, or out on the year round heated patio. The gourmet breakfast food and welcoming evening atmosphere make this the perfect place to start and finish your day.

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Please note until the 30th May our reception is being updated and we are cleaning the front of the building. This will not affect your stay in anyway except that you need to enter the hotel on the left of the building rather than through the main entrance.

Exit m5 at junction 19 (Gordano Services) and follow heritage signs to the toll bridge (Clifton Suspension Bridge. Go over the bridge (you will need 30p in silver) and carry straight on until reaching a mini roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout on to Clifton Down Road and the 2nd on the left to Merchant Road. Follow the road ound Victoria Square and down Queen's Road. At the double roundabout take the second left into St Paul's Road. You will find the Clifotn HOtel to your right.
From M4
Leave the M4 at junction 19 and go directly on to the M32 into Bristol. At the end of the M32 get on the right hand lane on the last set of taffic lights, (Allied carpets showroom will be opposite you). Turn right at the lights and stay on the middle lane (following signs to the Bus Station and Clifton) until you reach a large roundabout (James Burton roundabout). Take the second exit and drive up the hill (Park Row) past the bus station on your left. Stay on Park Row until it joins Park Street and becomes Queens Road. Continue straight down into the triangle, staying on the right hand side lane, passing La Tasca restaurant to your left getting on to the left lane as you rejoin Queen's Road. Stay on the left lane until you pass the Vitoria Rooms and a fountain to your right, take the first right on to Westbourne Place and then right on to St Paul's road. The Clifton Hotel is on your right.
From A37 (Well's Road) and A$(Bath Road)
Follow signs for Bristol city centre and Bristol Temple Meads Train station. Once you have past the train station on your right stay on the middle lne until you reach a large roundabout.Go staright over the roundabout on to a second round about where you take the first exit to your left on to Bond Stree. Stay on the middle lane that goes through an underpass following signs to Clifton and the Bus Station. Continue on Bond Street unitl the end where you reach a large roundabout (James Burton Roundabout). Take the second exit and drive up the hill, Park Row, past the bus station on your left. Stay on Park Row until it joins Park Street nd becomes Queens Road getting on to the left lane as you rejoin Queen Road stay on the left lane until you pass the Victoria rooms and a fountain on your right, take the first right on to Westbourne place and then right on to St Paul's Road. The Clifton Hotel is on your right
